M y name is Dayhanna. I started this blog because I’m what you would call an outcast. I’d been wanting to start a blog for a long time and could never find a way to fit into a “niche”. I like fashion, but can’t afford to start a fashion blog – and frankly, feel that I have much more to say than to obsess about the latest trends. I love fitness but also love wine, cheese, chocolate, pastries and ethnic foods. A blog about fitness seemed limiting and hypocritical. I like to travel, but don’t do it as often as I’d like to, so a travel blog was out of the question.
My true love is to motivate others and bring light to those who need it, but I’m not a Guru or a Personal Coach. The internet is already full of those. You know, those “Gurus” who promise to fix your life as long as you have enough money to pay for their services. My advice doesn’t have a price tag, it doesn’t come with terms and conditions. It comes from experience, and from the bottom of my heart.
After months of trying to fit into a category I was still blank: but I found three words that encompassed what I wanted my blog to say. Balanced. Bold. Boundless. I call this the #b3way
Balanced because I don’t like extremes. I’m not a fitness addict, I’m not a world traveler and I’m not a fashionista. I am not a writer or one of those amazing housewives with a perfect home. My life can be pretty chaotic and I’m okay with it. Extremes are easy to strive for but Balance is hard to achieve. As Ellen Degeneres once said:
Life is about balance.
The good and the bad.
The highs and the lows.
The pina and the colada.
Bold because bold people stand out from a crowd. They go after their dreams even when the world thinks they’re insane. Those who are bold are often misfits, but they are confident, courageous and driven by a passion that isn’t easy to replicate. Bold people take risks and they do it over, and over again despite the hardships and set backs. Bold people know that from failure comes knowledge, and from perseverance come success.
Boundless, because we are more than our nationality, more than the language we speak, and more than the labels that society has set for us. I believe there is a place for all of us in the world. We have unlimited potential and capacities for love, exploration and adventure. We need to be free from the limits that have been imposed upon us in order to really discover, and achieve our full potentials.
The #B3way is about achieving success. About living a life that is meaningful and honest to your purpose and potential. I’ll talk about the importance of your mind, body and spirit but most importantly the importance of your environment and the people you choose to surround yourself with. I hope B3 will become a community for people who want to grow and support each other. People who believe in kindness, giving back, and persevering regardless of the hardships that they face.
